we did a number of runs up and down the line, including two to the nearby supermarket to pick up dinner and again for dessert.
hamish was able to borrow a kiwirail truck and a trailer that allowed the guys to transport their jiggers safely in one go. the hiab on the truck made loading and unloading a breeze, much easier than using muscle power.
before heading home on sunday afternoon, we stopped at the new plymouth model railway group. their layout is extensive and they run it like a proper railway, sending trains of goods to each others yards. they are based in a former cow shed on a farm, and the one layout takes up the entire building.
it was a great weekend. i had an absolute blast. thanks to blair and keegan for putting up with me on the drive there and back. cant wait until next time!
