i took my new athearn and gave it a run around the layout. rob has taken it home to lube and put windows in. he doesnt think its ever been run. i have the matching B unit coming from ebay. not sure when itll arrive.
my yellow and silver grain hoppers shouldnt be too far away either. they are in chicago at the moment.
i also took my model power canadian pacific set and my bachmann grain hoppers and steel reefers. i lost the hoppers to robs train, of course, but gave my little line up a good run while the boys devoured my cake, lol.
i need to make a decision on couplers as the athearn wont hook to anything ive got, so might have to look into replacing the couplers so they all fit together. what i might do is leave the A and B unit couplers as they are, but replace the rear B unit one with another that will fit the bachmann rolling stock. will look into that when it arrives.
i had this afternoon off work and had 2 moles removed from my face. was an interesting experience.
the numbing injections hurt, but nothing i couldnt handle. the actual mole removal was painless, just a weird tugging sensation.
i will be doing a heap of walking this week as one is right where my helmet chin strap sits, meaning even the ride to work would be uncomfortable and could tear the stitches, ruining my chance of minimal scarring.
i have an appointment to get the stitches out on thursday, just in time for train club. will be interesting to see if anyone notices.
