the plarail set i got on trademe last week arrived yesterday. im really pleased with it. it includes a very hard to find troublesome tanker, red and cream coach and a heap of other rolling stock, along with a good circuit of track with sidings.
i took a few photos tonight, then my cat tippy decided he hadnt seen me enough this week and wanted some attention, lol. hes a brat, but i love him! click the photo to see more on the relevant page. not much to update, certainly nothing will top hello kitty for a while. lol.
we went to palmerston north today and yesterday to a huge book sale. i got heaps of thomas books and a large pile for the club. spent over $100 over both days, just on books! LOL. no tomy finds yesterday, but going back today we stopped at sanson market. i got a box of tomy thomas bits, a little bit of track, part of knapford station and carolines station. from the same seller i also got a set of fenbo with eurostar. after we got home, i took the books out to the club to get them out of the way. then i checked trademe and found a plarail thomas set. i asked the seller for a buy now, and suggested $75 which she accepted. it should come with a grumpy thomas and a very rare troublesome tanker! ucwepn says the coach is also rare. the lot from trademe with the hello kitty train arrived yesterday afternoon.
im thrilled with the hello kitty set, its just lovely. the loco runs well and everything is in good shape. the only issue is one of the figures is missing, but thats it. considering the rarity of the set, im glad to have it as is. not sure when it will be shown to the public at the club, but im looking forward to it either way! LOL a good way to end the first week of overtime at work. nice little reward, lol. click the photo to visit the page where there are more pics. with mega thanks for blueplastictracks.com member, SUPER, i now have the 4 trees sold with the mt fuji set. my set was missing them, super had some he didnt want, so gave them to me for the cost of postage. a huge thanks to him for that generosity. nice to have the correct trees. last saturday, i found a hello kitty tomy set on trademe. had to wait until tonight for it to close, and was prepared to go up to $200 for the lot. luckily, i didnt have much competition and only had to go up to $39, which is an absolute steal! one figure is missing, and the merry go round doesnt always work, but both should be easily sorted.
it was listed as a pick up from down south, so i asked the seller if i could arrange a courier, which they were fine with, so will get that sorted hopefully next week. really pleased to have a hello kitty set for such a cheap price! im now planning a girls layout, with care bears, my little pony and whatever else i think of. will post photos when it arrives! the viaduct and eneos petrol station sets finally arrived on thursday, 15 days after winning the auctions.
they are both in good shape and have their boxes, which is nice. the engine with the viaduct needed a little work as the terminals had corrosion. now it goes like a rocket! click the first two photos to go to the relevant pages. the other two show my cat, tippy, helping take the petrol station apart BEFORE as of yesterday, i am down one tooth. a filling fell out on tuesday while i was having lunch. i put up with it, but the tooth had a sharp point and was hurting my tongue, so went to the dentist yesterday and he removed it. $190 later... lol.
finally had contact tonight from the seller of the two takara sets, so hopefully they will be here next week, if i ever get the banking details. got the first of this years christmas presents partially sorted too. i plan to give mum and dad $1000AUD each, and managed to get a deck of cards from dads favourite casino. i will try and wrap aussie money around the cards and give it to him that way. just need to think of something similar for mum. |
