i will create a new page for these, and make it public once the set arrives.
an update on the plarail ride on train... i am buying it for $100NZD, plus about $30 shipping.
i will create a new page for these, and make it public once the set arrives. on ebay, there is a seller that makes his own couplers. i finally decided to order some, since im running desperately low. i got 10 pairs of black couplers, 25 white hooks and a pack with a triangle drive, 3 pairs of standard couplers and a replacement coupler for tender-drive engines. ive heard good things about them from other plarailers, so heres hoping they meet expectations.
a few months back, i got a plarail thomas siding set. the seller of that set emailed me yesterday, wanting to sell this large ride on train. its a 35th anniversary edition. i have offered her $100, so heres hoping its enough. it runs on batteries, and i can picture attaching a bear or doll to it and just having it run like that. if i get it, there will be another new page, as tomy made at least 3 different ones and i dont know what else to put them under, lol fingers crossed for a postive update in the next few days!
won the 4 plarail disney dream trains on jauce last night for Y6250. i will be ordering the shipment once they have arrived with jauce. so hopefully within 3 weeks i will have it all here.
with buying these, i have made a new page for the disney themed trains, as there are quite a few different ones. the new page can be found here i know canada is a long way away, but i didnt think it was that far!! way back in may, i bought these items from quebec. about 2-3 weeks ago, i started to get concerned, so checked the online tracking. then last week, i contacted the seller. they made some enquiries from there, and finally the parcel showed up on my step this morning. the two flat decks are for rob. both are missing a ramp from the rear. he will likely either remove both remaining, or put one on the other to make one complete.
the loco i havent been able to test as yet... need to take it to the club. maybe sunday? it has hand rails that have been painted to match the paint scheme, looks really awesome in person. needs a little cleaning... the white it a bit grubby, but other than that, it looks good! went to the coin and stamp show today. spent a whole $10 on a canada sudbury big nickel medallion. in 1951 they minted circulation nickels [5c coin] to commemorate 200 years since the discovery of the metal. the medallion is identical to the coin, but much larger. quite pleased to have it, could have easily spent more on silver dollars, but thats all good.
went to farmers after that and found the new trackmaster range alongside the original. i grabbed timothy, gator and scared james, all against my better judgement. they were 20% off, thankfully. need to grab a bit of track so i can get their photos done. havent even opened them yet, and im not impressed. will wait to pass final judgement until ive had a play, lol mum and i went back and i got the 3 track expansion packs. i can see many being broken by youngsters trying to put them together and take them apart by themselves. not a good design at all. click the photos to see more i won the part hello kitty set for 1600Y. pleased to have the bear at last, and also the two spare carriages. the set has yellow couplers, so its nice to have some spares, just in case. also wont say no to all the other bits, lol the downside with getting up two nights in a row, is our girl cat has decided i must get up every night. she woke me at 3.15 this morning. shes fairly old, but locks into a routine pretty darn quick. its lucky shes cute, lol. i took chris' custom henry to the club last night, and fast doesnt even come close to describing him! will have to design a loooong layout to accomodate him. corners are no good.
also placed a bid and won this coaster for $1. the reason i wanted it? thats a canadian silver dollar in the middle, commemorating the transcontinental railway. it will be here next week with any luck. theres also a coin and stamp show in town on sunday, so will shoot down and see what they have. maybe with more to come!
first up, a parcel arrived today from ucwepn in australia. i helped him a couple of weeks ago with a plarail powerful gordon. as a thank you, he sent me a custom henry! 3v grain of rice bulb, upgraded motor, painted footplate, real buffers and AAA battery box. he goes like a rocket, and with added weights, he can pull loads. also in the parcel was a rare fat controller figure, which i traded a breakvan for. last wednesday, i found an EF65 on trademe for $14. it arrived today and runs well, seems to have a waddle though, so will investigate at the club tomorrow. just have to find its rolling stock now. i got up at 1.15am to bid on another lot of mt fuji plakids. i wanted the cart to go with mine, lol. i won them for 1200Y. will be getting up at a similar time to bid on a part lot of hello kitty which includes the bear mine was missing. mum and i went to wellington today to pick up the tomy advertising signs that i won for $10. pick up went smoothly, we found the address without getting lost, which is a miracle! they are almost as tall as me and are dated 2006. both are double sided, which is good as both have a little damage, but being 8 years old thats to be expected. most signs of this sort dont last a year. we stopped off at porirua savemart on the way and i got a bag of toys which included a red troublesome truck, one side of a trackmaster bridge and a mini annie and clarabel. also some wooden trains which i will give to a friends son.
two really awesome scores... 2 pairs of brand new 2012 winter olympic canadian mittens. always wanted a pair of those, now i have 2!! on the way home, we stopped at trash palace recycling. didnt get much this time... a wooden train called "lil toot", a doraemon photo album which i will cut up, a hello kitty bag which will also be cut up. from there, we went to the warehouse. i got a large toothless from how to train your dragon which i will hang from my ceiling. we went to the plaza there and into a shop which sells a lot of japanese characters. i bought a large hello kitty money box to use as a centre piece in that layout, some doraemon stickers and some train scrapbooking stickers. a really good day out, despite the weather. it was blowing a gale and raining quite a bit. |
