a couple of days after getting home, zero to five uploaded a pic to their facebook page of new items in stock. murpheys law, one was a large bag of trackmaster. action canyon to be exist. after asking if they would post it, vicky came to the rescue and offered to go and collect it for me. she is a great friend and i really appreciate her help. she will mind it until the next school holidays, when my folks will go and collect it. while scouring jauce tonight, i decided to hit the n scale listings. for Y3600, i scored the tomix n scale troublesome trucks 2 pack. one more off the list. this will be added to my other items in the jauce warehouse.
the two rare HIT engines arrived today. james goes buzz buzz and flip face toby! both are in really nice shape, though james needed a new tender coupler and toby has a few minor scratches on his roof
im delighted to finally cross these two beauties off my list. been a long time since ive been able to do that. click either pic to visit the HIT engines page and see the photo of smiling toby. mum and i got back from tauranga on monday night. what a long, exciting, exhausting weekend! we shopped on the way up, not finding a great deal. i did get some decent stuff once there, though. from zero to five, i got a large pokemon figurine set and trackmaster shake shake bridge. toyworld had two FPTM windmill sets for half price [$25 each], and i finally got wooden railway "introducing james". at the model railway store i got some bits for the thomas n scale layout, and savemart had the tracks that go with the sesame st bus. friday also saw the delivery from japan of the plarail buzz and alien trains. click their pics to visit the page saturday we missed most of the op shops but went and looked at the 750cc virago. she rode well and was quite comfy. a little tall but very grunty and sounded great. i thought about it overnight and made the decision on sunday to buy her.
the sellers are a lovely older couple and have recently been to canada. they had in their kitchen a tin of tim hortons. talk about a little taste of home! the bike itself is an 82 and was spent her first 20 years in canada, putting a mere 20,000k on the clock. she came here in 02 and did another 25,000k before coming to me. it took 6 hours to get home and by then i was sore, stiff and cold. the bike went well the whole way. no decent photos yet, thanks to working hours which sees me home during the dark hours only. wont get any over the weekend either, as i dropped her for a service after work. will pick her up next week. have done a bit of buying in the last couple of days. first i caved in and bought the two plarail pixar dream trains based on buzz and little green men. from the same seller i also got a tomica diecast "elsa" car for the christmas layout. am expecting them in a few weeks, will unveil both on the toy story HO layout later this year. still deciding exactly how to do it, but will get it sorted. then tonight i was browsing ebay when i found a reasonabily priced FLIP FACE TOBY! one of the rarest engines from trackmaster. the same seller also had a rare buzz buzz james. should have them in a couple of weeks. so pleased to have seen both of these, especially the toby who looks in good shape. mum and i are heading to tauranga on friday and will be back monday. im going to hopefully be looking at another virago, a 750 this time. will be hitting the usual shops on saturday and then spending time doing what the kids want on sunday.
the second wave of minis that i ordered from australia arrived on thursday. it was running night that night, so i had time to open one bag while having dinner before getting out the door. lou, james and jacob, plus kylie and keegan, were coming along so i had set up the takara roller coaster mountain set. a big hit with all 3 boys.
last night was also a bust minis wise as we had work drinks and i didnt get home til 9 with a massive headache, and i only had one drink! managed to maintain my pool average... one ball sunk over 2 games. anyway, onto business!! lol wave two is just as good the previous one, which is what was expected. i didnt order the full wave as 4 were the same as ones ive got from the blister packs. i did order another metallic gordon and 2 metallic edwards for the display case. i really like dino ben and robot toby. old school spencer looks very similar to the classic. only a slightly different shade of grey differentiate the two. this pic shows the new ones. the missing spaces are ones i didnt buy, with the character/numbers provided by jdog at the thomas wikia. click on it to see individual photos of all the minis to date |
