the second section is more general pics of things i thought interesting.
some general photos from our melbourne trip. the first section is from the mickey 90 years exhibit at melbourne central behind the shot tower. great exhibit, well worth the time to view.
the second section is more general pics of things i thought interesting. mum and i got back from melbourne on monday, and i was back at work first thing tuesday morning. i did some great buying over here, finding some real gems! not much in the way of minis, though i did get 5 new ones and the boost n blast stunt set. i also got the tomy toomies bubble blast train. i had found it at docklands and left it, then had regrets over night so went back the next day. also from there i got another 5 of the minis storage cases, pixar had set up a mini gold course by the river, and though it was too expensive to play [$25AUD for 9 holes!] i did get a golf ball decorated like the luxo ball. i had been after a luxo ball for many years for the toy story layout, and the golf ball is the perfect size. melbourne central shopping centre was celebrating 90 years of mickey, with art contributed by 90 different artists. i bought the book, and the free exhibit was great! i hit up several shops, including build a bear, zing, minotaur and the usual big box stores like big w and myer. from build a bear, i got a toothless [finally!], two thomas bears, one of which is for madison, and candy puppy for paige. zing, jbhifi and minotaur all proved little gold mines for the geek side of things. i found several pops figures, including aang and momo from avatar, and christmas mickey, along with a few other things. as said, i didnt get much in the way of minis, but those i did find came from toyworld and big w. the other stores were pretty bare. i bought this gem on trademe yesterday for $100. hopefully it will be here next week. i am also watching two lion king auctions that i hope to win tomorrow.
a couple of buys from recent weeks.
most interesting is the 1997 bluebird playcases from trademe, which finally arrived yesterday. they are in great shape and 100% complete. amazing, given the size of everything. |
