won glowing devious diesel on trademe today from the same woman i won duke from. i missed the same train a few weeks back, so it was nice to get him this time.
this week has seen the photo update of donald, and the arrival of dart and den, and i just scored duke! his photo is here
i went to wellington with mike on wednesday. no thomas buys, but i spent over $500NZD at kirkaldie and stains christmas shop! i bought the rest of jim shores dwarfs, finally. i also got a few other bits and pieces. feel like i need a second tree. lol. mum and dad are home, dart and den in hand. they are nicely made models, though for the price i think den could have had something on his flatbed.
photos are here i have been thinking on my xmas layout and decided i wanted to use the large suspension bridge to give it more personality. when i went upstairs to find it, i thought why not dig out donald and get his photo redone while im at it? so his photo is on the tomy thomas page, finally!
i also took some photos of my xmas set up, mainly so i can use them to help set it up on the day. photos are here. they dont look too good due to the carpet. when the show is on, i will use a white sheet and make some small hills somehow, as i have some lego skiiers and snowboarders. saw someone on trademe had listed several MIB dukes, peter sam, charlie and glow diesel. i asked for a buy now on one of the dukes and was granted it for $43. totally stoked, as i would have gone as high as $50 in an auction. i might also have a go at the glow diesel, but not too worried if i dont get it.
nothing else to do, so i finally got around to scanning and uploading the pamphlets and instruction sheets that have been waiting for a while. they are trackmaster and tomica ones.
mum and dad are off to see the kids for the weekend. mum just called from rotorua warehouse... shes found DEN and DART! absolutely amazing. i never thought we would get them here.
they will be back on monday, so photos will be posted tuesday at the latest. went to a meeting at the club last night to discuss the upcoming christmas show.
i have dug out my tomy christmas set, which i bought second hand and customised the tracks and a replacement thomas and percy with a can of white spray paint. since its quite a decent size, it has a large empty area in the middle. i have decided to use my lego christmas toy shop and other assorted bits and bobs. i may also buy the lego christmas bakery off trademe, to fill in more of the space. hopefully it will look quite good. i wanted to have the station facing in to the middle, so had to hunt down two adapters. a touch of spray paint, and they are ready to go. i might add some trucks of "toys", like the zaini toy story figures currently sitting in my mehano wagon. i will also decorate the annie and clarabel with tinsel etc on sunday, i was helping my friend michael shift a freezer when blair pulled up. hes an absolute legend, he had picked up a replacement key for my hornby wind up thomas. its nice to finally see the little guy move around the track... he goes quite a distance. hehe called into the warehouse today to buy the new winnie the pooh dvd. checked the thomas section and found 3 new destination sets: the sodor search light, rattle and shake coal hopper and raise and lower drawbridge. they were stickered at $50NZD each, but scanned up at $40, which was great!
photos are here, open photos to follow soon. got home from train club to find the expected parcel on my chair. inside was the two trackmaster sets i got from trademe: colin in the party surprise and percy's day at the farm.
the colin set is missing the magnetic box, and im hoping to pick up a replacement somewhere along the way. i might email fisher-price and see if they can help. there was also 4 sections of track missing, but thats not a major issue given the piles and piles ive got upstairs. both wagons will need their hooks replaced due to being stretched, but again thats all good as i have heaps of spares. i spent the time at the club dis-assembling the engines i got in tauranga photos of both sets can be found here. |
