for the second time in this sites history, I am posting from a new computer. I was sick of being on my tablet and having to borrow johns pc to do any major updating, so he finally convinced me to get a desktop for up here. its a Lenovo and seems to be doing the trick so far!
after 8 months at my current job, last week, i was made permanent. i now how a full time job with no end date on the contract! really pleased, especially with the uncertainty of the job market currently. one more thing pointing out that my move out of my home town and region was the right choice. been here almost a year, and its amazing what has changed.
to celebrate, i finally bought one of the new john deere big loader sets from trademe. hopefully it will be here in the next week or so. i havent decided which page to put it on, or if i will make a new one for licensed sets that arent thomas. might just keep it on the main big loader page for the time being. it weekend was a very busy and exciting one. we went to my parents for the 4 days, as i took friday off work. this meant they were able to go and see my brother and his kids for the first time since christmas.
earlier in the week, john and i went to harvey norman and i sorted out a brand new stove for them. we picked it up friday and greg installed it for us that night. mum and dad had no idea this was happening, so came home saturday to a brand new stove. luckily, we had escaped to palmerston north for the day and then stayed overnight in ashurst with brian, so missed the initial fallout... before we got to wanganui, we stopped at the valley hospice and i got dad some dvds, then when we stopped at stratford hospice, i got a bag with a lego minifig and then spotted a large dinner plate from the denby greenwheat pattern that mum collects. the large plates are impossible to find, this was the first either of us have ever seen. after picking up the stove, we went to ewans where i bought two of his childhood lego train sets for $250. really, really pleased with them and honored to preserve and repair them as best i can. ewans mum gave me a tomy water game complete with its box that used to be used in the bath. gotta love little bonuses that are unexpected. in palmy, i picked up another tomy answer clock in working shape. glad to have it, as my other is still in bits... with the addition of two lego train sets, i have created a new page. click either of the relevant pictures to visit it. |
