absolutely delighted to finally own the smallest powered thomas engine available. click the photo to visit the new page and see more photos of this itsy bitsy set.
the tomix thomas n scale set arrived today, in great looking shape. i will have to take it to the club to run him, but the whole set looks great! thomas is roughly 6cm from buffer to buffer, while annie and clarabel are closer to 7cm. i paid $161nzd, which isnt too bad.
absolutely delighted to finally own the smallest powered thomas engine available. click the photo to visit the new page and see more photos of this itsy bitsy set. had an awesome buy on trademe tonight. really cant afford to be spending but it couldnt be passed up unfortunately. also had an essential buy from ebay after being given clear instructions on putting power to the lego winter village carousel. so for $11 i got a lego technic worm drive from ebay uk. should hopefully be here in time for the christmas show, but no biggie if its not. and for $161 i got, finally, a tomix n scale thomas, annie and clarabel. this is part of a small, hard to find range of thomas. other characters were percy, who had 3 changable faces, james and henry, along with assorted rolling stock and sodor sights. tomix is a branch of tomy and also makes n scale japanese trains and accessories. click the pic to visit the new page, not that theres much to see just yet. there is also a tomy listing closing on thursday which is for another plarail viaduct set. hoping to grab that for $50 or so. be good to have two for running trains like emery who are primarily seen up high.
we went into the warehouse today. they had 50% off fisher-price, which of course includes thomas. i had a look, not expecting to see anything. surprisingly. they had gordons hill. normally $50, i couldnt pass it up at $25.
ive also scanned and uploaded instructions for more trackmaster revolution sets here, and the bits that came with c11 thomas and the hamburger car here. i was also given permission to decorate the club, so joe and i spent a couple of hours down there today and got quite a lot done. really happy with how its looking so far. still a bit to go, but will chip away slowly. dont want to over do it too quickly, lol. i won these 4 truck and track sets on trademe for $12, a really good price! i mainly want the peppermint tankers for christmas, but wont say no to the rest, thats for sure. should be here next week hopefully.
the box from jauce arrived today. only 2 really exciting things, 2 others are essentials and the last was a mistake buy, lol. always read before bidding, specially when you can retract a bid for any reason. so, first up we have oigawa type c11 thomas, based on the loco used at a day out with thomas in japan. a really nice loco that is still thomas but not at the same time. he looks like a more grown up version, lol. next is the hamburger car. im not sure what the deal with this one except it was from mcdonalds in japan, and i think you had to spend a certain amount on plarail to qualify. i think it came with a dvd as well, which i have the envelope for. [thats the poor buy] the burger rotates and goes up and down as it rolls. really unique. i also got a 2 wheel sets in red and yellow to fix a couple of locos i got from trademe. lastly, ucwepn is doing me a huge favour and sending me 2 green express coaches to run with the red ones for christmas. should look really, just need to decide what im going run them with. forgot to put this in the title, but ive also planned this years christmas display. it is 47x65cm, allowing a little extra on the sides. just hoping the table at the club will be big enough!
ive used the buildings from the trackmaster christmas set i got with help earlier in the year. ive used adapters to make everything connect and think it will work well. just need to get batteries for the lights. looking forward to the show, should be really good this year i sent the two tin trains i got for UCWEPN yesterday. glad to have them gone as they were so tempting to keep, lol. he paid me quickly, so i cleared my debt and order my 3rd and final [for now...] shipment from jauce. should be here in a couple of weeks.
went to the warehouse and collected my laybuy today, looking to clear some debts since im out of work.
while there, i checked the thomas section and spotted a junction journey track pack up on the shelf. this is from the original track, so i got it down. it scanned up at a mere $10! will be going to my nephew for his small collection. click the pics for photos of the new range well, my contract at the factory expired last week. as of friday, im out of work so there wont be much buying. have a shipment to order from jauce and my trackmaster laybuy to pay off, and thats it for the moment.
its been an amazing and heartbreaking 6 months. we lost 2 of our 4 cats, and i bought some amazing items that i never thought i would own. on the homepage slideshow ive put a selection of these trains and things, roughly in the order of purchase. i have also included blackie and joker in the line up. my best buys would be the monorail and hello kitty. i would gladly trade everything, however, to have my cats back. planning is underway for the christmas show in december, and thoughts are also turning towards our big show next year. restored steam inc diesel DA1431 came to town today. spent a few hours with it, and even got a ride on it! also went to the dublin bridge 100yr celebrations, but left before any speeches and the nobility arrived, lol.
a good day out. click the pic to visit the page. |
