we went around the shops as usual, not finding overly much, though i did finally get some decent shorts from kmart. i wanted ones with belt loops for the melbourne trip as my wallet has a chain and i like to be able to secure it. op shops had none, or else they only just fitted. as dad paid for them, i made them be put away for christmas, along with some shirts mum got me from jayjays and some pops from eb games. [baby nifflers and pickett from fantastic beasts!]
speaking of the wizarding world, friday night was the bombers private screening of the new movie. the tickets said dress up optional, so i went all out!
i managed to track down a hufflepuff tie at the warehouse, bought a nice white shirt from the sallies for $5 and mum found a priest dress up at savemart for $8. she removed the collar and front panel, adding velcro at the neck and my hufflepuff patch. the result was a lovely cloak with wide, long sleeves that fitted well and looked great! a last minute addition was dumbledores elder wand from the warehouse.
after all that work, i was one of the two or three dressed up. pleased i did it though. the outfit will be saved and reused, possibly when i display my harry potter lego.
the movie was amazing, and one i will have to see again at some stage to try and fully understand it. the collective gasps when the movie took us back to hogwarts was thrilling, as though everyone was pleased to be "home" again.
i had a good lego buy on thursday night, from the local facebook buy/sell group, a lego pirate ship from 2015. it appears to be 98% complete, and what is missing are only minor parts that are easily replaced. i will dismantle it, clean the dust and check how complete it actually is.
the care bear in the photo i picked up for vicky, as it is a factory error with a sideways tummy symbol.
