now.... what else can i sell? ;)
i listed a pile of care bears for sale online. they just sold for $230NZD! thats a nice amount to put towards the bill for the trains, which came to around $490NZD.
now.... what else can i sell? ;) ive just put a request in with my friend stephen from the uk. i got him to order a bunch of trains from the tomy.co.uk website. they dont ship worldwide, so i had to ask him to do it for me.
so far, i owe him about 200pound for trains and spare parts. the trains i hopefully have coming are: boco rosie rocky [yay!] duncan chocolate crunch percy sir handel fearless freddie from the trackmaster range i have: proteus victor hiro hank stanley for parts, im getting some spare tyres and couplings. also a pack of big loader "rocks" to use as props. so, right now, the only one im missing is thomas and the jet engine, but i dont consider that overly urgent. so keep an eye on the thomas page, as it will be 99% complete when this package arrives. the photos featuring the vintage tomy stuff are up. i also took some photos of some of my thomas stuff as well.
eventually, i hope to post step by step repair guides for both the vintage and modern engines. will have to wait until i get some new engines that need cleaning. so stay posted for a new album! ive made the decision to add more pages of info relating to the vintage tomy trains. this will include info on the different trains they released, special sets and vintage accesories.
as always, the photos will be taken by me, so it may take a few days to get this sorted as all my trains are kept in the ceiling cavity and are packed in plastic containers. the containers take ages to un and repack, so i have to have time to do it. as i work 7 days a week, that time isnt often there, and when it is, i cant be bothered doing anything. lol. welcome to my webpage dedicated to the tomy and trackmaster range of motorised thomas the tank engine and friends toys. i spent many months hunting on google for a site like this and never found one. so, using my own photos and descriptions found online, i decided to make one!
i got hooked on the original tomy engines about 20 years ago when i saw a set on display in a department store for christmas. i announced to mum that i wanted it and was delighted to actually get it! i still have that set in top condition... the tracks only started breaking due to age. i taught myself how to clean and repair the engines, finding a reliable source for replacement motors as many had burned out. the old engines are great to clean, as quite often you will find the plastic cogs are different colors. ive found some in shades of green, orange, blue and yellow, along with the standard white. since then, i have added many more vintage tomy accessories through finds in thrift shops, yard sales, and, more recently, the wonder world of the net. i recently added sets like le shuttle and europark. i only got hooked on the thomas line earlier this year when i had the opportunity to buy an almost complete set from a guy a few towns over for $400NZD. i took a day to decide before texting him and saying that i would buy the lot. i rode my motorbike down to pick them up, taking all the luggage i could and still didnt have enough room. ive never carried so much stuff before! i have only 10 engines left to find, and am mainly sourcing them from ebay uk and trademe. in finding them, i have met some wonderful people and made one new friend who is helping me get more from the tomy uk website since they wont ship internationally. i have no idea how often this will be updated, so we will see. it is mainly here to serve as a reference site. feel free to comment, but dont expect an immediate reply. im hopeless like that! |
