i bought a fair bit of thomas stuff while there. a brand new release called close call cliff, so recent it wasnt even in my list of sets to buy. i found that at kmart.
from big w, i finally got the revolution essential engines gift pack that came with the sodor race day thomas.
myer had the 3 in 1 track builder set with diesel and toys r us had 5 sets of the older trackmaster icy overpass and the snowy mountain rescue revolution set. pleased to cross a few more bits off the list.
on monday, my good friend and fellow thomas/plarail collector, ucwepn, came with his wife to have a coffee. it was great finally meet someone ive chatted with online for years.
after meeting with chris, mum and i caught the train to the chadstone shopping centre, in the hopes of finding a build a bear toothless. no luck there, but i did buy 2 new ones, one from chadstone and one from highpoint.
while mum was in a chemist and i was waiting outside, a huge window display of different tshirt prints caught my eye, with one mannequin wearing a shirt of woodys roundup, from toy story. closer inspection brought a thomas 70th print to my attention.
we went in, and i bought a neat mickey shirt, the woody one and then started looking for the thomas. again, no joy, but i found a stack of better shirts instead.
PLARAIL!!! i hadnt been that excited at a store find in a long time. they only had one design, and i remembered seeing another of their stores somewhere, so enquired as to its location. turned out it was mere minutes up the road in the melbourne emporium.
when we got back into town, we dropped the parcels at the hotel and then headed up the road, where i found another 5 designs. i got two of each, and will cut 1 of each design off and sew it onto an adult shirt so i can wear them at shows.
click the shirt pic to see all 6 awesome designs.
