a seemingly rare item, this is a store display piece from the mid 80s. this particular set came out of a toy store in perth australia, and the seller i bought it from owned the toy store and then brought it with them when they immigrated to new zealand.
the set was left running day after day and the seller said they would get roughly 3 months out of a chassis, running 6 days a week.
they also had a big big loader store display, which they left with their daughter for her kids to enjoy. she sold that about a month ago, but was kind enough to send through a photo for the archives.
the set will debut at the club show in a couple of weeks, taking the place of toy story. i decided last night there was more than enough representation of standard model railways, and i wanted to focus on my true love of battery trains.
