with robs help and advice, i got the rest of the toy story tracks soldered together correctly last thursday. yesterday, colin and i laid the tracks on the board and he nailed them down for me. while he was doing that, i was cutting sleepers off damaged bits of track to fill the gaps between the track sections. looks much better without a huge space.
only one solder join broke in the process of nailing, but thats no big issue. we tested the track and the toy story loco runs like a dream. now it just needs a few paint touch ups, which will hopefully get done this weekend, then it can be wrapped in a sheet to protect it and be stored against the wall until the christmas show in december.
in thomas news, i won an auction for a MIB takara tomy roller coaster mountain set this morning. this was the 4th times its been listed, but it wasnt well described, so my usual searches on trademe missed it entirely. it was $60 and my first bit of thomas buying in quite some time.
there has been more rivarossi john wilkes coaches listed on ebay... im hoping to get those as well so i can pick the best of both lots and possibly resell one set and get some money back.
i have just finished negotiations with an american collector of disney pixar cars... i am selling him two of my hard to find cars for $100USD. with any luck, this money will cover part of the coaches. if i dont win them, i will use the money to take mum and dad out for dinner instead, lol.
