sunday morning, we got down in the pit so blair could empty the ash pan underneath. he then had to shovel the mess out of the pit into a wheelbarrow, which i took and emptied.
i didnt realise there was so much involved and how much hard work it actually is. my arms are sore, and i can feel them everytime i try to reach or lift anything, but its a good pain. my body and mind enjoyed the work immensely... if i could live and work there, i would.
i got home at 10 last night, black as pitch. my eyes had smudges of coal around them and it looked like i had been in a fight. an awesome, awesome weekend away. my reward for the hard work done was the satisfaction of doing it well, and several cab rides. i know for next time to take overalls... my clothes were filthy, even the ones i had underneath.
in ebay news, i won several more auctions in the days leading up to the weekend. i got 2 lehigh valley covered hoppers for $4.50USD each, and a canadian club whiskey hopper for $7USD. cant wait for them all to arrive.
