inside, i found a mountain of track, all atlas branded, two old boxes from tyco, one used to contain a loco and now holds the track section of a bridge, while the other still has the main supports of the trestle bridge. 6 or 7 tyco wagons and best of all, 2 tri-ang passenger wagons, one of which is an observation car. there was also a tri-ang track transformer, which means we will now be able to run both inside and outside tracks at the same time, like we always wanted. the trestle bridges instructions are included. amazing.
he said they were his when he was still a thumb sucker, so they are at least 45 years old, if not a little older, depending on how long he sucked his thumb.
everything needs a jolly good wash, but should scrub up to look like new. i love the tri-ang coaches, they are much more suited to the hiawatha than boring old frieght.
so i have heaps to take to the club this week. i bought 2 calendars with trains over in aussie for $3.50 a box of 6 old pickup truck models and a railways map from the gold coast. i was also hoping to take the loco and wagons i bought in aussie, but will take my box of treasures instead.
