i am not going to use the trackmaster tracks again. none of the slope joins would sit flat, no matter what i did, meaning things would get stuck or jump off the tracks.
the layout as a whole went down well with the public. it was so nice to be inside for a change.
sadly, a box moved when bringing everything home and the post office got demolished, so will need to rebuild that at some stage.

we were up early sunday to head back to palmerston north and catch a steam train to feilding for their christmas parade. keegan had no idea what we had planned... i thought he would burst with excitement when he saw blair leaning out of the cab waving to him.
we were very early to the train, which meant we had our pick of seats and could sit together since there was no allocated seating.
on the way from feilding station to town, we stopped at a christmas display that had lots of marionettes, santa [who kept adjusting his beard] and two layouts.
the feilding parade is very well done, quite long for a small town. lots of local businesses had floats, also the classic cars, big trucks and local harley owners group took part. many people dressed up, even a spiderman and two minions.
we walked back to station and enjoyed the trip back to palmerston. then keegan and kylie got to ride it back to feilding again, while i chose to go with sandra. we chased it back and i got some decent photos.
