we went to savemart today and we found a few things. nothing overly special, until i found a boxed tomy pull back set. ive got several of these but all without the box. this one is missing the trees but is other wise pretty good. $5, which is a good price.
now on to the big stuff!! my items from jauce got held up at customs, i think due to the cost... almost $500! rule of thumb is anything over $400 it at risk of incuring fees and duties. i was lucky... i sent through my invoice and was told there were no fees to collect. PHEW! it arrived this morning.
the big, expensive lot was the n and HO scale pieces. sadly, there is much damage in terms of buffers but i should be able to correct the parts i really want and need for the layout.
as feared, i am down one curve of tomix finetrack, which means i cant really start building the layout unless we have a suitable bit in the box at the club. [or unless i go ahead and buy some from jauce...]
on a plus, i am thrilled that the capsule prize tunnels are correct for the n scale. these will help with christmas decorating when the time comes.
the two 5 piece disney trains that i got for a steal were brand new in the box and are just stunning!! i love the attention to detail... the woody train has "andy" printed on the underside, just like woody in the movie. who would have remembered to do that!? i cannot wait to put them on display. they will be a huge hit!
another good buy is the doraemon undersea trio. they are in mint condition, only the drive axle needed replacing. the cog had split due to age, but the stickers are immaculate which is the main thing.
off to wellington with mike tomorrow for the first time in forever. not sure if or where we will be stopping and shopping, but we shall see. :)
