the customised box for the john wilkes coaches is finished. the sides have the numbers from the 2 sets which this will be storing. the inside insert has photos of the coaches, in numerical order. really pleased with how its turned out. its been reinforced and is nice and strong. i need to measure the coaches and will likely pack each end with bubble wrap to protect the couplers.
mum and i went op shopping today. didnt find anything until savemart, where i got a small bag of tomy for .99c and a bag of wooden track for ash for $3. not a lot to report really, but still its something michael and i hung out yesterday afternoon, playing board games and watching a movie. the weather was beyond foul, so it was a grand way to spend the day. he also got my wireless sorted, so i can go online on the tablet now.
about an hour after michael dropped me off, rob txt and invited me over to see the work he had done on my john wilkes coaches. yet again the weather was foul, so it was nice to spend the evening with a friend. when i got home, i was showing mum the tablet and looking at trademe. i found an auction for 2 HO scale flat decks complete with dale earnhardt jr racing cars. i got them for $30. will put up photos when they arrive had a bright idea at work the other day for transporting my HO scale john wilkes coaches. we got some curling ribbon in, and they come in boxes with partitions in them. 6 slots, enough for 1 set of coaches. had to cut two down to make them long enough. have taped the two together and covered with A4 white paper. will cover again and then finally use lehigh valley/black diamond logos to make it fancy. pleased to finally have a suitable way of taking them to and from the club without risking damage. nicer still to do it for free. buying something suitable would have not only been costly, but time consuming trying to find it to begin with. i will put up more photos once its finished and when i eventually get the rest of the coaches back from rob... so, ya might be waiting a while. LOL
after seeing a link to the 1day daily deal website for a toy sale, i followed it and found the 3 newest pop-out wagons for $30NZD each. they are mavis' rocky delivery, thomas and the stinky cheese and peter sam's mountain supplies. couldnt resist snapping them up, despite the amount ive spent on trains lately. they are ones i havent seen instore and would likely have to wait until australia to buy them otherwise.
photos will be posted when they arrive. |
